A wonderful time was had by all. And only a few were unable to unlock that dreaded bathroom door! Here is a (very) short video clip from this wonderful event....
Various 2008 excursions enjoyed by Evan and Bernadette in 2008:
In March, to celebrate our 25th (!! ) wedding anniversary, E & B took a twelve day trip toThailand! It was outstanding and so memorable. We saw most of the country, ate fantastic food, rode elephants, visited marketplaces, and saw many different temples. There is so much to share that we can't possibly present it all in this letter. You'll have to visit sometime to get the full presentation!
In early April, Evan and Bernadette headed to N.Y.C. to celebrate Evan's sister's (Jamie) 50th birthday with an amazing brunch at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. Great fun!
In May, Evan had a conference to attend in Scottsdale, Arizona. Bernadette was able to have the time off from work to join him. It was wonderfully relaxing and we had the good fortune of the temperature remaining in the 80's. One week later, temperatures soared over a hundred! Evan and Bernadette also travelled to Boston in mid-May for their niece's (Natalie) graduation at Brandeis University. We wish her well in law school this year!
In early July, Bernadette spent a terrific week visiting her mother in Lockport, N.Y. It is always wonderful to have some personal time with Mom and to visit in good weather! Lucette and Bernadette had fun at Artpark where Michael Clayton Thomas performed.
Bernadette had an incredible 3-day reunion weekend with her three sisters in Columbus, Ohio, for early August. We shopped, ate, laughed and chatted the whole time! Lucky for us, the annual Irish festival was in Dublin (nearby) and it was a blast.
For Columbus Day weekend, Evan and Bernadette were able to visit our new home for the first time! We fell in love with it again and picked up a few necessities to get by for our short stay. The foliage colors were at their peak and we were thrilled to be there in the fall!
In October, Evan and Bernadette returned to Brown University to visit Jake for parent's weekend. Had great fun. Went to a number of very interesting lectures on interesting and timely topics - global warming, the economy, evolutionary theory vs. intelligent design, and more. Enjoyed great food and a little shopping too.
In early November, Evan and Bernadette drove to Buffalo for our nephew's wedding. Matthew and Erin were married in a beautiful chapel at Niagara University. We had a wonderful time seeing family at this special event. The reception site was very beautiful and the band was great
